Santa Clara County Schools' Insurance Group (SCCSIG) was established by a Joint Powers Agreement on October 1, 1978, in accordance with Title I, Division 7, Chapter 5, Article I Sections 6500, et seq., of the California Government Code.

The purpose is for the operation of a common risk management and insurance program for member districts.
